5 Months in the Philippines: What We Learned 🇵🇭✨
Share
When we first landed in the Philippines, we thought we’d only stay for a short time… but life had other plans. What was supposed to be a stop along our world travel journey turned into 5 incredible months of adventures and unforgettable memories.
From Manila’s hustle and bustle to the more quiet places, the Philippines has left a permanent mark on our hearts. And now, we’re excited to share the full experience with you in our brand-new YouTube video:
5 Things We Learned Living in the Philippines 🌴
1. The People Make the Place
The warmth, kindness, and hospitality of Filipinos are unlike anywhere else we’ve been. From neighbors who welcomed us like family to strangers who went out of their way to help, it’s truly the people that made our stay unforgettable.
2. Embrace Island Time
Life runs on a different rhythm here, and that’s a good thing. Learning to slow down, be patient, and live in the moment was one of the biggest lessons we’ll take with us.
3. Internet Can Be Tricky (But Manageable)
As digital nomads, staying connected is essential. We quickly learned to invest in backup SIM cards and pocket Wi-Fi to make sure work runs smoothly.
4. Food is a Journey in Itself
From Jollibee to halo-halo, adobo, and fresh seafood, we loved exploring local dishes. But here’s the tip: don’t just stick to restaurants. The best food experiences often came from street stalls and local markets.
5. Explore Beyond the Obvious
Boracay and Palawan are stunning, but the Philippines has 7,000+ islands, some of our favorite adventures were in less touristy spots. Sometimes, the most magical places are the ones you stumble upon by accident.
These 5 months have been more than just travel; they’ve been about learning, growing, and finding a second home halfway across the world. The Philippines will forever be a part of our story, and we’re so grateful for the experiences it gave us.
Where to next? Well… you’ll have to keep watching and reading to find out 😉
With love,
Vanessa & Jay 💕🌏
